The proposed model places a DAIT node on suitable outdoor space using spare electrical capacity. DAIT funds and operates the equipment. Your organization receives agreed compensation and may benefit from on-site storage.
What we look at together.
Each site receives its own review. Alongside power, space, connectivity, access, and site rights, the assessment considers:
- Available power outside critical teaching and research systems
- Roof or pad loading and maintenance access
- Separation from campus IT networks
- Noise, siting, and procurement requirements
Computing for the college is a separate conversation.
If your college wants AI computing for research, teaching, or campus applications, DAIT can discuss the workload separately. Hosting a node does not automatically include free computing or guaranteed capacity.
